In this seminar, speakers from the Mass Observation Archive, the Library’s researcher support unit, and the Teaching and Learning Development Unit will speak about the resources and courses they offer PhD students.
As well as this useful information, PhD students new and old will share study tips, insider knowledge, and those little pieces of information which help to make PhD research more manageable. Expect tips for quiet areas to read, suggestions of where to find the best coffee on campus, and hints for how to navigate those two labyrinths which strike fear into the bravest heart: the confusing Silverstone building and the torturous University MFM website.
New students, this is a perfect opportunity to have questions about life as a PhD student at Sussex answered by colleagues with a couple of years (or more!) worth of PhD study here under their belts.
Current students, please think of one thing which “I wish I had known when I started studying here…” to share with the group.
